What is pumice stone?

Pumice stone is volcanic natural stone that is known for its high porosity (many air bubbles). The stone is lightweight and has many holes and edges on the surface that provide an abrasive effect on the skin. This makes it perfect for removing calluses.

Pumice stone is formed when during a volcanic eruption the liquid lava, which contains a large amount of gases, cools so quickly that the gas bubbles do not have time to escape and become stuck in the rock.
